Senegal: Ousmane Sonko tenders his resignation

Head of Pastef's national list for the November 17, 2024 early parliamentary elections in Senegal, Ousmane Sonko has made an unsurprising announcement.

The current Prime Minister has announced that he will not sit in the National Assembly. This decision marks a strategic turning point for the Pastef leader, who won a landslide victory in the last legislative elections.

"I'm staying at the Prime Minister's Office, Insha Allah, and I wish the elected deputies a good term of office", he said in an official statement.he said in an official statement.

His resignation from the position of Member of Parliament reaffirms his commitment to his current duties and his willingness to leave the management of legislative affairs to the team elected under his banner.
